Negotiations at the Twins

The Late Lord Frey The Impasse Robb's army is halted at the Twins, unable to cross the Green Fork. Walder Frey demands concessions for passage. Catelyn's Diplomacy Catelyn negotiates with the old lord, agreeing to betroth Robb to one of his daughters and Arya to his son Elmar. She also agrees to foster two of his grandsons at Winterfell. The Crossing The Freys allow Robb to cross, and their levies join his army. The alliance is sealed, but it is built on shaky ground.

The Weasel Warriors The Battle Frey knights fight alongside the northmen in the Whispering Wood, contributing to the victory. Ser Stevron Frey is among the commanders. The Tension Despite the alliance, there is mutual distrust. The Freys are seen as unreliable, and their late arrival at the Trident is remembered. The Oath Robb's oath to marry a Frey girl binds him, but he will later break it, with dire consequences.
